SRA Compliance Essential Services

These services are available on an individual ad-hoc basis or can be combined with any of our other services.

We also offer a retainer service to include all or any of the below, priced to suit your firm’s budget.

Whatever your compliance needs we are here to assist. All our materials are written from scratch and prepared with our in-practice experience and the individual needs of your firm in mind.

They are bespoke to your firm and your firm only!

  • A full audit of your current internal compliance processes. This would involve an in-depth review of how the firm presently manages and mitigates keys risks and how closely personnel follow procedures. We provide a report to include a gap analysis identifying areas of weakness and of best practice, with recommendations (process and system improvements, policy updates, individual or team training).
  • File reviews and corrective action follow up. A random selection of files are reviewed to ensure that internal procedures are being followed, and that the firm is complying with the SRA Code of Conduct and SRA Accounts Rules, AML regulations, data protection and any applicable Law Society accreditation standards.
  • Complaints handling. Complaints must be managed promptly and fairly. We can do this for you. We will communicate with the client, investigate the complaint within the firm, report to you with a recommended resolution, and advise you of any remedial actions needed to improve service standards and avoid repetition of the issue.
  • SRA Transparency Rules. We will audit your client care letters and website for compliance with the rules.
  • COLP and COFA advice. For example, advising on new regulatory requirements/practising certificate renewals, and COLP/COFA reporting using our unique monitoring system.
  • AML Policy, Practice Wide Risk Assessment and Sanctions Policy update or preparation.
  • Office Manual drafting – Lexcel/CQS/Law firm start up/Compliance Essentials.
  • Review and updating of your present Policies, Procedures, Office manual. This will take in to account the latest legal and regulatory requirements (including AML and sanctions regulations, the Data Protection Act 2018, the SRA Standards and Regulations 2019)  and any applicable Law Society accreditations (eg Lexcel v6.1 or CQS Core Practice Management Standards 2022)
  • Risk register reviews – (accounts, high risk, complaints, breach logs). Providing follow up advice in respect of remedial actions and any reportable breaches to the SRA.
