Training Course: Cybercrime and social engineering

A staggering 89% of all reported fraud is online.

‘Mandate Fraud’, where criminals attempt to have payments diverted to their account by pretending to be legitimate creditors, is on the rise and a constant threat to law firms.

As illustrated in the SDT case from February 2024, this is a particular risk to conveyancing firms, and is known as ‘Friday afternoon fraud’.

This training session explores the current cybercrime landscape and emerging tactics deployed by criminals to steal money and information from organisations and is essential learning for everyone teams to be able to identify and respond to various types of cybercrime. The session is CPD accredited.

When and where?

Each session is hosted by Paul Stratton of the Fraud Nerd.  Paul is a former Police Detective with over 22 years of experience in various roles. These include covert policing and intelligence, counter-terrorism and counter-extremism, undercover policing, and criminal investigations into serious and complex crimes like domestic violence, stalking, violence and abuse against vulnerable people, and sexual offences.

The training session will last in the region of two to three hours, delivered remotely using Microsoft Teams or Zoom.
